On May 29, 2012 I married the most amazing lady I have ever met. She is brilliant, beautiful, witty, geeky, a little bit rock-n-roll (ok, a lot rock-n-roll), and most of all accepting of me just the way I am. And yet, she makes me better. Beth has challenged me, inspired me, encouraged me, motivated me, and more importantly, she has loved me in a way I never thought possible.

Beth and I have been together for a good while now, so getting married was not a surprise. It is something we have both given a lot of thought about, and it was time we moved our relationship along. Loving Beth is effortless, like breathing. We have so much in common and we want to share everything together, so it was only natural that we solidify our bond together.

We both agreed something simple and fun would best suit us and our relationship, so when I suggested Las Vegas she jumped at it. Thanks to Delta SkyMiles and Marriott Reward Points we were able to eliminate travel and hotel costs completely! We enjoyed 5 nights and 6 days at the brand new Cosmopolitan right in the heart of the Strip next to the Bellagio. We had a beautiful view from our balcony as you can see below! π Even though we had 6 days and 5 nights, it went by way too fast for us.

We had so many favorite places there were too many to count… Caesar’s Palace, the Eiffel Tower, New York/New York, Excalibur, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Bellagio, and on and on. We walked until we couldn’t walk any more. We were exhausted every night and went to bed with sore feet and aching legs. We marked almost everything off our list we wanted to do:
- Fountain at the Bellagio – we watched Memorial Day while they played “God Bless the USA” and it was awesome!
- Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio
- Freemont Street Experience
- Volcano at the Mirage
- Planet Hollywood
- Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
- Luxor
- Excalibur
- Roller coaster at New York, New York
- Eiffel Tower at Paris
- CSI Experience at the MGM Grand
There were a few things we left unfinished for our next trip π
And we didn’t see any shows, not because we didn’t want to, but because nothing really grabbed our interest this time with so much else to do
One of our favorite places and the best meal we had in Vegas was Battista’s Hole in the Wall just behind the Flamingo. This was recommended to me by John Kincade the local sports talk radio host on 680 the Fan. He did not disappoint. This was a wonderful place, full of atmosphere and great food. It is one of the things we are looking most forward to in going back! π

There is no way to capture the fun we shared on this trip π Beth is my best friend, and it was awesome to share everything with her, from the roller coaster at New York, New York (ugh, sick) to the crime scene at the CSI Experience at the MGM Grand.

We had the absolute best time of our lives π
And we can’t wait to go back again!
